Joseph Bramlett (246 OWGR) survives golf’s longest day to qualify for the 122nd US Open to take place June 13-19 at The Country Club, in Brookline, MA.
There were four slots available from the Rockville, MD site to the 75 participants who traveled from across the country in hopes of qualifying for the Major Championship.
Notables in the field included Kevin Chappel, Harry Higgs, Tim O’Neal, and Grayson Murray.
Joseph started the day hot with 7 birdies on the front-nine holes of his opening round leading to a 66 finish. An afternoon round of 70 was good enough to the best aggregate score of the day.
The 8-under par score was 2 shots better than the 2nd place qualifier Grayson Murray, and five shot better than the final two qualifiers at three-under par.
This will be Bramlett’s third U.S. Open (2010,2019) his first not at iconic Pebble Beach.
