After a week off for Thanksgiving, the PGA Tour travels to the Bahamas for the Hero World Challenge.
Established in 2000, this will be the 23rd playing of the tournament.
Featuring the smallest field of any event on the PGA Tour, 20 players will contend for the $3.5 million purse.
Three previous winners of the Hero World Challenge, Henrik Stenson, Bubba Watson, and Graeme McDowell were amoung those who have defected to LIV Golf.
Tiger Woods a five time winner and tournament host withdrew from the tournament on Monday citing plantar fasciitis in his right foot.
During Woods’ press conference on tuesday he noted that he could “hit all of the shots” but the issue was walking. Additionally when asked about the possibility of using a cart he emphatically indicated that he was opposed to the idea unless it was the Champions Tour or another PGA Tour event that allowed the use of carts.
Woods did not provide a timeline for his next appearance at a PGA Tour event.
