10 women of color compete this week in LPGA Tour and USGA events
It’s a good week for diversity in women’s professional and amateur golf with 10 women competing in event over three events.
Two events on the LPGA tour, and hosted by the USGA feature women of color in the field or representing their country.
The LPGA is in New Jersey this week for the Shoprite Classic, and in the field is Mariah Stackhouse and Georgia Uboh.
The developmental tour for the LPGA, the Epson Tour, is in Kingston, NC for the Carolina Golf Classic presented by Blue Cross NC.
In the field are Shasta Averyhardt, Ginger Howard, Lakarabe Abe, Breanne Jones, and Anita Uwadia.
In the Curtis Cup, Amari Avery and Megha Ganna are on the roster to compete against Great Britian and Ireland.
