Tiger Watch 2022
There was no chance that Tiger wasn’t playing today, and he didn’t disappoint in his first PGA Tour round since 2020.
Delayed Start
Due to extensive rain Wednesday night, tee times were delayed Thursday by thirty minutes.
Tiger Tee’d off at 11:04am, instead of the scheduled 10:34am.
First Round Result
Tiger didn’t play his best but finished his comeback round better than he expected.
Three birdies and two bogeys led to a one under par finish for Tiger and a tie for 10th place after everyone was finished.
The putter kept Tiger in the round even when a few drives off the tee didn’t hit the mark.
A 30 foot birdie putt at the 16th hole led to a Sunday-esque roar from the patrons surrounding the green. The accompaning fist pump made us tempirarly forget that this moment may not have happened.
“Lot’s of ice” – was Tiger’s response to the question of his recovery during his 18 hour break until his Friday tee time.
Tiger will tee off Friday at 1:41pm.
