The PGA Tour is back in the US after last week’s Mexico Open.
This year the Wells Fargo Championship will be held at TPC Potomac at Avenel just outside Washington, DC in Maryland instead of the normal venue in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The previous venue, Quail Hollow Club, will be hosting the President’s Cup later in the year is the reason for the move north.
The Wells Fargo Championship’s $9 million purse, with $1.62 million going to the winner attracts some of the best in the world.
The highest ranked player in the field is Rory Mcilroy at #7 in the official world golf ranking.
Other notables in the field are:
Francesco Molinari, Sergio Garcia, Gary Woodland, Rickie Fowler, Jason Day, Paul Casey, Patrick Reed, Stewart Cink, Webb Simpson, and Seamus Power.
Tony has played TPC Potomac once before in 2017 for the Quicken Loans National.
He finished 29th that day with two rounds in the 60s that week.
Tony is coming off of a strong final round at last week’s Mexico Open.
A Sunday score of 63 had Tony tied for the lowest round of the day.
This will be Bramlett’s first time at TPC Potomac for a PGA Tour event.
However, he has two previous appearances at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Entering the week following a missed cut in Mexico, Joseph is hoping for better fortunes with the return state side.
Playing on a sponsors exemption, Greg Odom, Jr. a junior at Howard University will be in the field.
Having a tight schedule, Odom will compete in the PGA Works Collegiate Championship in Philadelphia running Monday – Wednesday.
Odom will then make the drive down I-95 to tee off Thursday at TPC Potomac.
Tony Finau: Thursday – 7:23am; Friday – 12:43pm
Joseph Bramlett: Thursday – 8:51am; Friday – 2:11pm
