Players to watch
Sahith Theegala
This will be Sahith’s first trip to Japan for the Zozo Championship.
In two events so far this season Sahith has made a cut, Fortinet Championship, and has missed a cut, Sanderson Farms Championship. The made cut at the Fortinet Championship led to a T6 finish his first top-10 finish of the year.
Finishing the 2021-2022 season with 5 top-10 finishes, and 26 cuts made in 32 events played so it appears that the missed cut at the Sanderson Farms should be an outlier and not the norm for Sahith in the new season.
Cam Champ
This will be Cam’s second time competing in the Zozo Championship, but his first trip to Japan for the event.
In 2020 the Zozo Championship was held in California due to the Covid-19 pandemic that impacted most sporting events in 2020 and 2021.
So far in the new season Cam has two missed cuts in the two events he’s entered.
Missed cuts were a theme for Cam in the 2021-2022 season.
In 19 event entered last season, Cam missed the cut 11 times. His high watermark for the year was a T10 finishes at the Masters.
